This past Wednesday, the senate passed SB17 and now almost every media report, opinion poll, and online article is intentionally distorting the bill by calling it the “BAR CARRY BILL” in an attempt to get the general public to be against the bill based on misinformation.
To try and set the record straight, a spokesperson from BFA said “This legislation is not about being able to carry weapons in bars, it’s about being able to go out to dinner with your family at an Applebee’s or similar restaurant that happens to serve alcohol without the fear of being another Suzanna Hupp or Nikki Goeser”.
In 1991 Suzanna Hupp, a concealed carry licensee went to dinner with her parents at Luby’s Restaurant in Killeen, Texas. Since Texas banned carrying weapons into alcohol serving restaurants, she left her weapon locked in her car. She had to watch helplessly as her parents were among 23 people murdered that day.
Nikki Goeser, a concealed carry holder from TN, was forced to watching helplessly as her husband was murdered before her eyes because Tennessee prohibited carrying weapons into restaurants.
Both of these states immediately passed legislation allowing lawful carry in restaurants holding liquor licenses.
The BFA spokesperson then asked “Does Ohio have to suffer a similar fate and how many more people have to die before we take the step that every state surrounding us has taken? Hindsight is 20-20, but this legislation is preventative in nature. The facts are clear; 43 other states can’t be wrong.”
When will the sheeple in this damned state learn that the media lies and pushes their own agenda? I really do not want to have any more tragedies like those mentioned above, the family involved in such a tragedy could be yours COME ON OHIO!!!! Contact your state rep and tell them to get this passed! WE pay THEM to vote how we would want to vote so tell them how you vote!!!
